EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team took on Wartburg College on Wednesday night, falling to the Knights 1-4.

Box Score

Though the Blugolds outshot the Knights 8-3 in the first half, but Wartburg took the early lead. However in the 20th minute, Blugold offensive leader Megan Hansen (Jr. – Andover, MN) was able to get UWEC on the board with a well-placed shot to the bottom left corner of the net with an assist from Maddie Ames (Sr. – Shakopee, MN). The lone Blugold tally would not be enough as Wartburg answered with another goal in the first half and again in the second.

UW-Eau Claire maintained good ball movement throughout the entire game and kept the physicality high, totaling seven fouls.

Anna Sveiven (Sr. – Blaine, MN) was credited the loss tonight, putting her season record at 1-2-1.

The Blugolds will be back again at home Saturday looking for a win against Simpson College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
