(blugolds.com) — Jared Stricker (So. – Ashland, Wis.) finished as a national runner-up and Tyler Fleetwood (Jr. – Fulton, Ill.) placed third for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships on Saturday. Stricker became the second national runner-up in program history, and Fleetwood added his name to the group of six third-place finishers from UW-Eau Claire.

Jared Stricker (So. - Ashland, Wis.) was the regional champion at 174 pounds, and Tyler Fleetwood (Jr. - Fulton, Ill.) and Tristan Massie (Jr. - Hillsdale, Wis./Barron) also punched their tickets to nationals. Overall, the Blugolds finished third in the team standings.

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire tied for second place in the team standings with 125 points, sharing second with UW-Whitewater. Stricker was the 174-pound champion and Melton prevailed at 285 pounds.
