OSHKOSH, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling was back on the road Thursday for their annual dual, the Chancellor's Cup, against UW-Oshkosh. The Blugolds got off to a fast start with wins at the 133 and 149 spots, but ended up falling to the Titans, 27-12.
Javon Taschuk (Fr. - Afton, WI/Stillwater) scored the first points for Eau Claire with a 19-4 decision over Denis Murphy (UWO) at 133.
Jake Drexler (Jr. - Stratford, WI) followed it up with an 8-1 decision victory at 149 over Brandon Lenczer (UWO)
Chase Schmidt (Sr. - Rice Lake, WI) was the final Blugold to add to the team total with a 19-7 win over Muzi Sitshela (UWO) at 165.
The Blugolds will be back on the road on Saturday, November 13th when they travel to the Luther Open and the Bison Open.
