After being defeated last season and winning the inaugural trophy the year prior, the Blugolds now move to 2-1 in the series. There were seven matches that Eau Claire won on Saturday, and they earned bonus points in every single match.

The dual opened at 157-pounds with Hunter DeLeon (So.-Anoka, MN) having 2017 national place-winner Mark Choinski up against the ropes, but Choinski ultimately edged out a 6-3 decision.

The Blugolds responded with a pair of technical falls from Seth Vosters (So.-Freedom, WI) and Tyler Vogt (Sr.-Owatonna, MN) at 165- and 174-pounds. The Titans answered back with a close decision win at 184-pounds to cut the lead to four.

Ramsey Bloy (Jr.-Freedom, WI) and Tyler Burt (Fr.-Beloit, WI/Beloit Turner) put together major decision wins at 197-pounds and heavyweight. Both wrestlers were in tight matches heading into the third period, and they each pulled away late to lock in bonus points for the team.

Abe Dickenson (Fr.-Slinger, WI) received a forfeit at 125-pounds to push the team score to 24-6. Oshkosh picked up another decision win at 133-pounds, before the Blugolds finished the night strong.

Captains Jordan Meyer (So.-Evansville, WI) and Carter Focht (Sr.-Pine Springs, MN/Mahtomedi) were victorious by pinfall to end the match. Meyer's came in the first period, while Focht strung together a nice scramble in the second period of his match for the pin.

Eau Claire is back at McPhee with a quick turnaround on Tuesday. They host Luther College following their historic win in Decorah a year ago. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
