Blugolds fall to Falcons in season finale

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team fell short in their Thursday night matchup against UW-River Falls, 24-2.

After River Falls scored the first two goals of the game, Eau Claire answered with a pair of goals of their own. The first came from Sheridan Larson (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN) off an assist Megan Madsen (Fr. - Bloomington, MN/Jefferson). Larson would record an assist less than a minute later, with Riley Domagala (Fr. - Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) scoring the game-tying goal.

The Falcons went on a run to head into halftime with a 17-2 lead, despite seven saves from goalie Bryanna Brost (So.-New London, WI).

The Eau Claire offense struggled to get things going in the second half, with zero goals off two shots. The Falcons added seven goals to their advantage for the 24-2 victory.

The Blugolds finished with 11 saves on the night, all coming from Brost. Additionally, they finished with 14 ground balls and seven ball controls.

Eau Claire finishes their inaugural season with a 4-4 record. They battled through COVID-19 cancellations and postponements to finish with a .500 record. The Blugolds look forward to a more normal 2022 season.
