The Blugolds came out strong and were firing early, out-shooting the Falcons 11-5 in the first period. Despite the scoring opportunities, neither team could find the back of the net.

In the second, River Falls would get on the board at the 7:46 mark and though Eau Claire would tally a narrow 7-6 advantage in shots for the frame, still could not get one past Falcon goaltender Sami Miller.

In the third, the Blugolds would get six shots on goal to the Falcons' four, but an empty net Falcon goal at 18:26 would seal the win for River Falls.

Eau Claire would out-shoot River Falls 24-15 in the loss while Stephanie Martin (Sr.- Yorktown, VA/Tabb) tallied 13 saves in goal for Eau Claire and drops to 17-3-0.

With the loss, Eau Claire (21-4-0, 8-2-0 WIAC) finishes second in the WIAC standings and will be the No. 2 seed in the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's) and will host the No. 3 seed February 25-26.
