RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire women's hockey team continued conference play on Saturday as they took on returning WIAC champs, UW-River Falls. Despite out-shooting the Falcons, the Blugolds would fall on the road.
Eau Claire started out fast in the first seven minutes, as Elizabeth Bauer (So.-Wausau, WI/East) would put the Blugolds up by one. Kelly Knetter (Jr.-Wausau, WI/West) would get credit for the assist.
The Falcons would bounce back with four unanswered goals of their own, including two on the power-play. Carly Moran lead the attack with two goals of her own.
The Blugolds out-shot the Falcons 28-21 and that would be the sixth game in a row that Eau Claire has out-shot their opponent.
Eau Claire will be back in action on Tuesday, November 21 as they take on Concordia-Moorhead (MN) at home. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM. Follow all the action live at blugolds.com/gameday.
