Five Blugolds Earn NCGA All-America in Academics Awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - Fifty-four student-athletes from the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) were honored for their hard work in the classroom and in the gym as they earned All-America in Academics honors this week. Of the 54 recognized athlete, five Blugolds from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire were named Academic All-Americans for the 2022 Season.

Danielle Malecha (Sr. - Inver Grove Heights, MN/Rosemount), Bailey Davidson (Sr. - Eagan, MN/Eastview), Tayla Thome (Sr. - Medina, OH/Buckeye), Andrea Gessner (Sr. - Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial), and Karly Albers (Sr. - Eden Prairie, MN) were among the 54 Division III NCGA athletes earning the All-America in Academics Award during the season.

The All-America in Academics Award is presented to each gymnast who maintains a 3.0 overall grade point average (GPA) and whose name appears on the team's NCGA squad list for the current year. Each nominee must qualify as a senior student academically and be in her last year of athletic eligibility.
