Meade Places First at Georgianni Blugold Invitational

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team hosted the Georgianni Blugold Invitational this weekend at Wild Ridge Golf Course. Lexi Meade (Sr.-Altoona, WI) placed first overall. Meade posted a score of 79 in the first round of competition. The second round proved even better for the senior as she shot a 74 which put her in first place overall out of 59 golfers.

The Blugolds took 5th place as a team with a combined score of 685. Meade led the way for Eau Claire with a total score of 153 over two rounds. Following in second for the Blugolds was Jilli Newman (So.-Madison, WI/Vel Phillips Memorial) who posted a score of 170 and took 14th place overall.

Eau Claire's next competition will be  on September 17th and 18th at the DIII Invitational hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. Follow the Blugolds all season long on Blugold Game Day or on the UWEC Blugolds app.
