Women's Golf Places 3rd at WIAC Championship

REEDSBURG, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team competed in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Golf Championship (presented by Culver's) this past weekend. Lexi Meade (Jr. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) placed 2nd on the leaderboard with a 234 and the team took 3rd overall. UW-Whitewater earned their fifth straight championship with a team score of 958.

Results

After round one, UW-Eau Claire held a one stroke lead in first place with a team score of 321. Lexi Meade also held the top spot on the individual leaderboard with a 74 on day one. 74 tied for the championship's lowest round score by an individual.

On day two, the Blugolds fell back to second place after shooting a 330.

Jaden Woiwode (Fr. – River Falls, WI) and Megan Glaeser (Sr. – Freedom, WI/Fox Valley Lutheran) both finished in the top-20 after the three rounds. Woiwode earned a spot tied for 14th and Glaeser tied for 16th.

Meade tied for the lowest par three scoring during the tournament with a 3.17 average and a +2 total score.

Cadie Ash (So. – Waupaca, WI) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team which consisted of individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
