With a packed home arena and a close game in the final seconds, UW-Eau Claire came up short as the scoreboard hit zero and fell to the Big Blue, 59-56.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team opened the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament with a first-round matchup against North Central University (Minn.) on Friday. With a strong first quarter and career highs set by Kylie Mogen (So. – Menomonie, WI) and Jade Ganski (So. – Rothschild, WI/Newman Catholic), the Blugolds rolled past the NCU Rams, 61-46, to advance to the second round.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team was back in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship games for the first time since 2020 as they faced the No. 1 seeded UW-Whitewater Warhawks. After trailing at halftime, the Blugolds outscored the Warhawks 47-25 in the second half to capture a 77-63 victory and their first WIAC Championship since 2003.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team was on the road for the Wisconsin intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship tournament semifinals on Wednesday. A postseason trip to neighboring UW-Stout brought the intensity and fans inside the Johnson Fieldhouse for a No. 2 vs. No. 3 matchup. The 3-seeded Blugolds got out to a fast start and never looked back as UWEC advanced to the WIAC Championship tournament finals with an 87-68 victory.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team began their quest for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament Championship on Monday evening as they hosted UW-River Falls in the quarterfinal round. After reaching an 18-point lead in the third quarter, the Blugolds held on at home to earn a 61-54 playoff win.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team was at home for their final Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season game before playoffs, on Wednesday. The Blugolds faced off against UW-Platteville and celebrated Ellie Clayton (Sr. – Lakeville, MN/Farmington) during senior night in front of a packed crowd in Zorn Arena. Despite trailing after the opening quarter, the Blugolds rattled off 28 points in the second and cruised to a 73-53 victory.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team were on the road for their final regular season game of the season on Saturday as they traveled to UW-Stevens Point. Despite Jessie Ruden (Jr. – Rochester, MN/John Marshall) eclipsing the 20-point mark for the fifth time this season, the Blugolds found themselves in foul trouble and fell to the Pointers, 69-55.

    MENOMONIE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team faced off against UW-Stout on Wednesday for part two of the “War on 94” rivalry series. A close game between two of the top three teams in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) standings brought an eventful night for the Blugolds and Blue Devils. With an eight-point lead after the third quarter, UWEC eventually fell behind late and suffered their sixth loss of the season, 68-60.

The changes are in response to a significant imbalance in the number of games played by teams throughout the conference due to the COVID-19 protocols.

As the Blugolds hosted Alumni Day and faced off against UW-La Crosse, the environment made for a special evening affair. With a three-point deficit going into the fourth quarter, the Blugolds exploded for 30 points in the final ten minutes to secure the 71-58 victory.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team was back in action on Wednesday, as they traveled west to face Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opponent, UW-River Falls. After being outscored in the first and third quarters, the Blugolds rattled off 21 points in the final ten minutes to secure the 67-54 victory. Jessie Ruden (Jr. – Rochester, MN/John Marshall) tied a career high with 29 points and 40 minutes played.

(blugolds.com) - The atmosphere was electric.  The fans were rabid.  It was March, 1997 and women’s basketball was being showcased at the highest level on the UW-Eau Claire campus. A quarter of a century ago, the Blugold women’s basketball team was the talk of the town.  After playing for years, largely unnoticed in the McPhee Phy Ed Center, the women’s program gained a dedicated following in Zorn Arena under the watchful eye of a young and frenetic coach named Lisa Stone.

(blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball team took to the road on Wednesday for their fourth Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) contest in seven days. The #16 ranked Blugolds took on UW-Oshkosh at the Kolf Sports Center in a rematch of the 2019 WIAC Championship. After a slow start in the opening quarter, the Blugolds were unable to mount a comeback in a 60-53 road loss.

The Blugolds stormed out to an early lead and finished strong down the stretch to upset the Warhawks at Zorn, 81-71.

Jessie Ruden (Jr.- Rochester, MN) led the Blugolds with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Eau Claire fell short 73-64.
