Erickson named CoSIDA Academic All-America

AUSTIN, Texas (Blugolds.com) – University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball's Sadie Erickson (So. – Norwood Young America, MN/Central) has been named to the 2021 Academic All-America Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Erickson, who has a GPA of 3.78 as a Rehabilitation Science major, is the first Blugold Academic All-America since 2015, when fellow softball player Amanda Fischer also earned Third Team honors. The sophomore was also an NFCA First Team All-American this year after leading the conference with a batting average of .481 in her first full season. The mark also breaks the program's single-season record. In addition, Erickson led the conference in slugging percentage (.822), on base percentage (.525), runs scored (41), hits (62), total bases (106) and stolen bases (18). 

The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division III Academic All-America® teams program.
