KISSIMMEE, Fla. (blugolds.com) - Only ten full innings were needed for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball team on Saturday, as they outscored their two opponents, Farmingdale State and Washington & Jefferson, by a combined score of 22-0, imposing the mercy rule in both games.

The Blugolds blanked Farmingdale State in the morning's opener 10-0, highlighted by an eight-spot in the third inning. They poured on two more runs in the fourth against the Rams, but perhaps just as impressive as the offense on Saturday, was the combined pitching performance in this match-up.

Pitchers Lauren Blasczyk (Sr.-Appleton, WI/East) and Cheyenne Johnson (Fr.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) combined for a one-hitter, allowing only two walks and striking out seven total Ram hitters. Blasczyk earned her sixth win on the season, throwing three of the five innings.

Ten different Blugolds accounted for the eleven hits in the game, with Leah Wolff (Sr.-Middleton, WI) being the lone hitter to tally two base-hits, going 2-for-3.

Wolff stayed hot at the plate in the 12-0 win over Washington & Jefferson as well, adding three more hits and ending her day with an impressive 5-for-7 statline. Wolff, Emma Lehman (So.-Brooklyn Park, MN/Champlin Park), Tayler Mort (So.-Zumbrota, MN/Zumbrota-Mazeppa), and Kelsey Meredith (Sr.-Golden Valley, MN/Armstrong) each had a multi-hit game. Wolff also drove in four runs, while Rachel Heffel (Sr.-Racine, WI/Case) knocked in three.

Sarah Peka (Fr.-Chanhassen, MN/Minnetonka) improved her record to 3-0 with three innings of shutout ball, while Stephanie Wilczynski (Fr.-Naperville, IL/Waubonsie Valley) toed the rubber for the first time and allowed only one hit over two innings of work.

The Blugolds will shift over to Clermont, Florida for the remainder of their Spring Break trip, competing in the PFX Games on Monday through Wednesday. After their off-day on Sunday, they return to the diamond Monday afternoon against Hope College and Bowdoin. Those games are scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (CST).

Follow the action all season long on Blugold Game Day.
