Glidden named USTFCCCA Assistant Coach of the Year

NEW ORLEANS (Blugolds.com) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced Sarah Glidden as the National Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.

USTFCCCA Release

Glidden, a former Blugold national champion and All-American, serves as the decathlon/heptathlon coach. In just her second season as an assistant, not only did three Blugold heptathletes qualify for the national championship, but they held the top three seeds in the event; Dylan Cooper (Sr. – Holmen, WI) first, Abrahm Schroedl (Jr. – De Forest, WI) second and Marcus Weaver (Fr. - Lewiston, MN/Lewiston-Altura) third.

Cooper was recently named the USTFCCCA Field Athlete of the Year. The senior tied the NCAA Division III record and also holds the 13th best total in NCAA history. In addition, Schroedl and Weaver also rank in the NCAA DIII all-time Top 20.

This is the first national honor for Glidden, and she is just the second woman in the history of the USTFCCCA National Award Program to earn an NCAA DIII honor for coaching men and the first to do so for the indoor season.
