Blugold Men finish second at Titan Challenge

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire indoor track and field teams competed at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Saturday, with the Blugold men taking second and the women winning the meet. The men tallied 98.50 points while the women scored 112 on the day.

Leading the Blugold men was Dylan Cooper (Sr. -Holmen, WI) who won the 60m dash with a time of 8.17.

The 4x400m relay team of Hunter Henk (Sr. Beldenville, WI/River Falls), Arik Skifstad (So. – Eau Claire, WI/North), Jordan Lijewski (So. – Roseville, MN) and KJ Munn (Sr. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep) placed second in the event, clocking in with a time of 3:20.16.

TJ Lui (Dousman, WI/Kettle Moraine) placed second in the triple jump (14.02m, 46-0) while Alex Boehlen (Fr. Neenah, WI) was second in the shot put with a toss of 16.49m (54-1.25). Fellow thrower Chris Anderson (Sister Bay, WI/Gibraltar) also was second in the weight throw (17.34m, 56-10.75).

For the women, Glory Hecker (Sr. - Stone Lake, WI/Hayward Center) won the 400m (59.96) while Kady Kochendorfer (So. – Hudson, WI) was second in both the 60m dash (7.84) and in the triple jump (11.57m, 37-11.5).

Lizzy Cisewski (Jr. – Stevens Point, WI/Pacelli) placed second in the 3,000m run with a time of 10:33.79 while the 4x400m relay consisting of Hecker, Karli Olsen (Jr. – Blue Earth, MN), Lizzy Keena (Jr. – Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) and Megan Wallace (Jr. – Burlington, WI) was also second (3:59.11). In addition, Jillian Moss (Jr. – Fitchburg, WI/Oregon) was second in the high jump (1.58m, 5-2.25).

The Blugolds will now gear up for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's) which will be hosted by UW-Oshkosh on Feb. 28-29.
