ST. PAUL (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire indoor track and field teams competed at the University of St. Thomas Showcase this weekend, where the Blugold men finished third and the women won the meet.

The Blugold women took first place in seven events and were runner-up in five. Leading the way for the Blugolds was Kady Kochendorfer (So. – Hudson, WI) who took first in two events, the 200m (26.24) and triple jump (11.00m). Anna Schueth (Fr. – Hartland, WI/Arrowhead) won the 800m (2:18.24) and was also a part of the winning 4x400 team that was made up of Glory Hecker (Sr. - Stone Lake, WI/Hayward Center), Schueth, Lizzy Keena (Jr. – Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln, Karli Olsen (Jr. – Blue Earth, MN) which finished with a time of 4:04.35.
Other Blugolds that earned a top spot on the podium were Katie Faris (So. – Chippewa Falls, WI) in the 5,000m (18:10.76), Megan Wallace (Jr. – Burlington, WI) in the 60m hurdles (9.30) and Bailey Waldhauser (Jr. – Loyal, WI) in the high jump (1.68m).
Hecker also took second in the 200m (26.25) while Jillian Moss (Jr. – Fitchburg, WI/Oregon) was runner-up in the high jump (1.63m). Rosalie Campbell (Jr. – Germantown, WI), Wallace, Riley Armstrong (Fr. – Waunakee, WI), Alaina Syverson (Jr. – River Falls, WI) were second in the 4x400m (4:10.88) and Allison Weiker (So. – Roseville, MN) and Kassandra Lueck (Sr. - Nowthen, MN/Anoka) finished second in the pole vault (3.47m) and shot put (13.27m), respectively.
The Eau Claire men took six events and placed second in two. Dylan Cooper (Sr. -Holmen, WI) led the way with two first place finishes, one in the 60m hurdles (8.22) and the other in the pole vault (4.65m).
KJ Munn (Sr. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep) won the 400m (49.71) and Jake Petri (Jr. – Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) clocked in at 4:17.67 to win the mile run.
Brett Haffner (So. – Darien, IL/Hinsdale South) won the 5,000m (15:07.31) and the 4x400m relay team of Hunter Henk (Sr. Beldenville, WI/River Falls), Ethan Stashek (Fr. – Weston, WI/DC Everest), Aaron Wahl (Fr. – White Bear Lake, MN), Arik Skifstad (So. – Eau Claire, WI/North) turned in a winning time of 3:27.17.
In addition, Connor Dolan (Jr. – Nekoosa, WI/Assumption) was second in the 5,000m (15:10.44) while Liam Kenney (Fr. – Fennimore, WI) was second in the triple jump (12.75m).
The Blugolds will travel to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, Feb. 22 for their final meet before the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on Feb. 28-29.
