Blugolds Start NJAC Play With a Sweep

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team was back at home on Friday for a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) slate against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles. The Blugolds come away with a dominating 9-0 home victory as a result of outperforming the Eagles in both singles and doubles matches during the night.

Demetri Bush (Jr. – Edina, MN/Duluth Marshall) and Kole Kolinski (Sr. – Kewaunee, WI/Ashwaubenon) kicked the night off with an 8-3 win at No.1 doubles. John Foley (Jr. – Wayzata, MN) and Matt Gilbert (Sr. - Minneapolis, MN) continued the streak with an 8-1 win at No.2 doubles. Lastly, Tyler Grosz (Jr. - Hudson, WI) along with Hunter Roseth (Jr. - Lakeville, MN) dominated with an 8-0 sweep in No. 3 doubles giving the Blugolds a strong initial advantage over the Eagles heading into singles play.

The singles play continued to follow the momentum as Bush, Roseth, RJ Griffiths (So. - Rogers, MN), Foley, Grosz, and Kolinski all recorded wins as they took down the Eagles for the night, 9-0.

The Blugolds are back in play tomorrow as they continue the home series against SUNY-Oneonta and UW-Whitewater tennis teams at the John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center. The first match against UWW is scheduled for 1PM.
