Men's Tennis Glide Past Macalester at Home

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team was back in nonconference action as they host the Macalester College Scots on Saturday. With a clean sweep in doubles play and dominating wins across the singles matches, the Blugolds took the victory at home, 8-1.

Results

Demetri Bush (Jr. – Edina, MN/Duluth Marshall) and Kole Kolinski (Sr. – Kewaunee, WI/Ashwaubenon) got things started for UWEC with an 8-5 win at No. 1 singles. Hunter Roseth (Jr. – Lakeville, MN/South) and John Foley (Jr. – Wayzata, MN) propelled the home team's momentum with an 8-3 win at No. 2 singles to give Eau Claire the 3-0 lead heading into singles play.

The individual matches followed a similar timeline as RJ Griffiths (So. – Rogers, MN), Bush, Kolinski, Roseth, and Foley all recorded victories in their specific matchups to complete the 8-1 win. UW-Eau Claire only surrendered 34 games during their six singles matches.

The Blugolds will take the next two weeks off before they head down to Florida for the team's spring break trip. UWEC will play five nonconference games in three days at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL.
