Blugold Divers Tally Career Highs and top Finishes at UWSP Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's dive team was back in action on Saturday as they competed at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. With the swimmer's getting the weekend off, six Blugolds recorded career high scores. Ben Koller (So. – Savage, MN/Shakopee), Quincy Kabe (So. – Buffalo, MN), and Sarah Dahlk (Sr. – Verona, WI/Middleton) also qualified for NCAA Diving Zones with their personal best scores.

Quincy Kabe led all male divers throughout the weekend as he qualified for NCAA Zones on the 1m and 3m boards. Kabe totaled 502.45 points on the 3m board and 485.85 on the 1m board to earn two first-place finishes during the competition.

Sarah Dahlk was on the top of the podium for both the 1m and 3m boards with NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both events. A 415.70 on the 1m and a 455.60 on the 3m led the senior to record personal best scores of her own.

Ben Koller scored a personal best 78 points on his way to qualifying for the NCAA Zones on the 1-meter board. A score of 469.70 on the 1m and a 409.75 on the 3m landed him second finish on the 1m and a third-place finish on the 3m.

Rachel Kachinsky (So. – New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way Central), Whitney Onyancha (Sr. – Coon Rapids, MN/Irondale), and Zibby Hanifl  (Fr. – Northfield, MN) all tallied career high scores over the weekend as well. Hanfil paced 4th in the 1m and 3rd in the 3m, while Onyacha and Kachinsky combined for 1,249.65 points in the two events.

The Blugolds will be back at home on Saturday, January 29th when they host their third Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual of the year. UWEC takes on UW-Whitewater at the McPhee Physical Education Center pool at 1:30PM.
