KENOSHA, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's soccer team traveled to Carthage College on Sunday. After a big win at home the previous day, the Blugolds suffered many injuries and a 4-0 road loss to the Firebirds/
Will Heinen (Fr. – Champlin, MN) led UWEC with two shots the entire contest.
A back-and-forth game between the opponents was decided in the second half after Carthage tallied all four goals in the last 45-minutes of play.
A physical game between the Blugolds and Firebirds included 22 fouls, four yellow cards, and one red card during the contest.
Spencer Banks (Fr. – Stevens Point, WI) stopped three of the six shots he faced in the 76 minutes he played.
The Blugolds will be back on the road on Tuesday, October 19th when they travel to Appleton, WI to take on Lawrence University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 PM.
