Box Score

In the first half both teams would battle for possession challenging each other with aggressive and technical play. The Augsburg Eagles would have the upper hand  first when they found the back of the Blugold net in the 20th minute. Eau Claire wouldn't take long to answer back. A long throw in from Jacob Sampson (Fr.-McFarland, WI/McFarland) in the 33rd minute found AJ Johnson (So.-New Richmond, WI/New Richmond) on the back door and Johnson put a header past the Augsburg keeper to tie things at 1-1.

The Blugolds came out in the second half fighting against the Eagles for the next goal with a total of seven yellow cards being handed out. Eau Claire would find success with Evan Wilson (Fr.-Apple Valley, MN/Eastview) taking a free kick outside of Augsburg's 18-yard box. Wilson's ball in bounced off the crossbar right to Cooper Roberts (Fr.-Apple Valley, MN/Apple Valley) who sent in the final goal for the Blugolds giving them the 2 to 1 win.

Spencer Banks (Fr.-Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) would end the night stopping 2 of the 3 shots on goal he faced after playing the full game. Banks is now 7-2-0 on the season.

The 8-2-0 Blugolds will travel to Minnesota to play against the College of St. Scholastica Saints on Thursday, October 7th for a 3:00 PM kickoff.
