SUPERIOR, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – With another quick turnaround, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey team traveled to Superior on Friday night, falling to the Yellowjackets by a score of 3-0.
Superior would score once in the first and twice in the second to earn the shutout win, despite Eau Claire out-shooting the Yellowjackets 30-22, including an 11-5 advantage in the third period.
Derek Hammer (Sr. – Woodbury, MN/East Ridge), Matt Stanton (Jr. – Stillwater, MN) and Jarrad Vroman (Sr. – Lincoln Park, MI/St. Francis Cabrini) each tallied four shots on the night for Eau Claire.
Ryan Ouellette (Fr. – Colorado Springs, CO/Liberty) stopped 19 of the 22 shots he faced in net and falls to 5-6-0 on the season.
The Blugolds (6-11-0, 2-6-0 WIAC) will face Superior again on Saturday night in Superior at 7 p.m.
