Baseball Receives All-WIAC Honors

MADISON, Wis.-- The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced the individuals selected to the 2022 All-WIAC Baseball Team by the league coaches. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire baseball team had three individuals recognized for their performances during the 2022 spring season.

WIAC Release

Nate Witte (So. - Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) was named to the All-WIAC First Team as he led the Blugold offense and ranked amongst the top-10 in the WIAC in multiple stat categories. Witte finished the season with the WIAC's third best batting average (.389), recorded the sixth most hits in the conference (61), and stole the second most bases (29). He also led UW-Eau Claire in hits, stolen bases, at bats (157), and runs (40) in just his second season at UWEC.

Ryan Venne (So. – Eau Claire, WI/North) was named as an All-WIAC Honorable Mention in his first year at Eau Claire. Venne ranked 12th in the conference and second on the team with a .370 batting average (min. 20 games). He also recorded the seventh best slugging percentage in the WIAC with a team best .670 (min. 20 games) for UW-Eau Claire. His team leading 0.463 (min. 20 games) on base percentage was the fifth highest in the WIAC.

Kendal Lecker (Jr. – Seymour, WI) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
