Blugolds move up to 7th in NACDA's Learfield Director's Cup standings

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire moved up from 22nd to 7th in the Division III LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings after the final winter rankings were released Thursday.

The Blugolds now have 527.50 points for the year after an impressive winter season that amassed 326.50 points, highlighted by another national championship for the men's indoor track and field team. UW-Eau Claire also scored points in women's basketball, women's hockey, men's swimming and diving, women's track and field and wrestling. Points are based off a program's finish in the NCAA tournament.

Eau Claire leads the WIAC which saw three other schools in the Top 20 and are the highest-ranked public institution, trailing Johns Hopkins (855.50), Tufts (632), Chicago (616.50), Washington-St. Louis (603), Middlebury (561.50) and MIT (559.75).

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
