MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com)--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Tyra Boettcher has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 31 - Feb. 6.
Boettcher (Jr., Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) contributed big minutes for the Blugolds in their two conference wins during the week. Against UW-River Falls on Feb. 2, she was 9-of-11 (81.8 percent) from the field, including 3-of-4 from the three-point line, and 2-of-3 from the free throw line for 23 points. Against UW-La Crosse on Feb. 5, Boettcher tallied 20 points, going 8-of-9 from the free throw line, along with four steals. In the two games, she averaged 35 minutes of playing time and 21.5 points, while converting 15-of-20 field goal attempts (75.0 percent).
