Tremble, Women's Cross Country Coaches Earn WIAC Honors

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced the cross country awards Wednesday, with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country program earning Coaching Staff of the Year honors and Lexie Tremble (Sr. – Muskego, WI) was named Athlete of the Year.

The Blugolds captured their third consecutive WIAC title this season (11th overall) and were led by Tremble who was the overall WIAC champion with a time of 23:15.8. She is the second Blugold to earn WIAC Athlete of the Year honors, joining Lucy Ramquist (2015). The senior also received the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award.

UW-Eau Claire placed fourth at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship where they finished 17th. The coaching staff includes: head coach Dan Schwamberger; assistant coaches Chip Schneider and Marcie Schwamberger; volunteer assistant coach Morgan Marek; and volunteer student coaches Jake Kennedy, Emma Reed and Pernille Soderlind.
