The Blugolds are the defending WIAC champion after going a perfect 7-0 during the regular season to secure their sixth title in program history before winning their second WIAC tournament title.

UW-Eau Claire continued their success in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the semifinals for the first time in program history and racking up 33 wins – the most since 1989 when the Blugolds tallied 37 wins.

This year's squad will be tested early, with the Blugolds facing three nationally ranked opponents in their first four contests. The Blugolds will open their 2019 campaign at No. 22 Christopher Newport on August 30 followed by a matchup with Marymount. Eau Claire will finish opening weekend against No. 3 Juniata and host No. 25 Saint Benedict in their home-opener on Sept. 4 at the McPhee Center.
