Blugolds compete at Phil Esten Challenge

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire outdoor track and field teams competed at the Phil Esten Challenge with the women taking third and the men finishing seventh.

Results

Morgan Marek (Sr. – Muskego, WI) won the 1500m with time of 4:37.52 while Erica Oawster (Sr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) took top honors in the discus with a mark of 46.34m (152-0). Megan Wallace (So. – Burlington, WI) won the heptathlon for the Blugolds with 4,745 points. The sophomore won the 200m (26.55), long jump (5.45m, 17-10.75), shot put (11.01m, 36-1.5), javelin (35.01m, 114-10) and 800m (2:29.74) and was third in the 100m (15.66) and high jump (1.56m, 5-1.25).

Tommie Brenner (Sr. – Reedsburg, WI) was second in the 100m hurdles (14.80) while the 4x100 relay team of Amy Chen (So. – Mayville, WI), Kady Kochendorfer (Fr. – Hudson, WI), Logan Fahey (Jr. – Belleville, WI) and Ashley Agrimson  (So. – Peterson, MN/Rushford-Peterson) took second with a time of 48.09. Agrimson also took second in the long jump with a leap of 5.65m (18-6.5).

Hannah Lamack (So. – Kewaunee, WI) finished third in the 3000m steeplechase (11:26.80) while Bailey Waldhauser (So. – Loyal, WI) was third in the high jump with a mark of 1.63m (5-2.25).

For the Blugold men, Patrick Treacy (Sr. – Fall Creek, WI/Eau Claire, Memorial) won the 1500m, clocking in at 3:49.58. In addition, David Kornack (Sr. – Edgar, WI) won the shot put with a toss of 18.84m (61-9.75) and took third in the discus (48.77m, 160-0).

Abraham Schroedl (So. – De Forest, WI and Jordan Lacey (So. – Greenville, WI/St. Mary Central) finished second and third in the decathlon, tallying 6,325 and 6,227 points, respectively. Schroedl won the high jump (1.92m, 6-3.5), javelin (49.11m, 161-1) and pole vault (4.40m, 14-5.25) while finishing second in the 110m hurdles (15.88) and shot put (10.76m, 35-3.75). Lacey won the 100m (11.04) and 400m (53.26) and took second in the 1500 (4:49.91) and long jump (6.48m, 21-3.25).
