Track & Field opens outdoor season at Aston May Invite

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire track and field teams opened the outdoor season at the Aston May Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse on Saturday.

Results 

The women finished in fourth place with 76.50 points while the men were sixth with 75.33. In total, the Blugolds won five events on the day.

Kyler Lueck (Jr. – Germantown, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) won the 1,500m with a time of 3:48.97 while Patrick Treacy (Sr. – Fall Creek, WI/Eau Claire, Memorial) was third with a time of 3:52.08.

TJ Lui (Jr. – Dousman, WI/Kettle Moraine) won the triple jump with a leap of 13.81m (45-3.75) while David Lauritzen (Fr. – Wild Rose, WI) was fifth (13.05m, 42-9.75).

Also winning his event was David Kornack (Sr. – Edgar, WI), who won the shot put with a distance of 18.08m (59-4).

In the men's 100m, Adam Lembke (So. – Waukesha, WI/West) was third (10.95) and the sophomore also finished fifth in the 200m (22.30).

KJ Munn (Jr. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep) placed fifth in the 400m with a time of 48.92 and Abraham Schroedl (So. – De Forest, WI) was fifth in the high jump (1.88m, 6-2). In the discus, John Skubal (Sr. – Platteville, WI) also took fifth with a throw of 45.66m (149-10) and Joe Black (Jr. – River Falls, WI) was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 49.43m (162-02).

For the women, Erica Oawster (Sr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) won the discus with a throw of 47.25m (155-0) as well as the shot put with a distance of 14.47m (47-5.75).

Lexi LeFever Fr. – Hudson, WI) placed second in the long jump with a leap of 5.30m (17-4.75) and Kady Kochendorfer (Fr. – Hudson, WI) was third in the triple jump (11.26m, 36-11.5).

In the high jump, Bailey Waldhauser (So. – Loyal, WI) (1.58m, 5-2.25)  was third while Marin Munos (So. – Oswego, IL/Aurora West) was fifth (1.58m, 5-2.25) and Lizzy Keena (So. – Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 58.85.

Additionally, Hanna Reed (Sr. – Fort Atkinson, WI) was fifth in the 1500m (4:45.35) while Allison Weiker (Fr. – Roseville, MN) was fifth in the pole vault (3.45m, 11-3.75).

Next up for the Blugolds is the Platteville Invite on April 12-13. Action will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
