Women's Gymnastics Takes Second at John Zuerlein Invitational

MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team finished in second place out of three teams at the John Zuerlein Invitational at UW-Stout tonight.

Results

UW-Stout won the meet with a score of 183.550 while the Blugolds took second with 178.975 points. Hamline University (Minn.) finished in third place with 177.675 points.

Two Blugolds won events tonight.

In the floor exercise, Elizabeth Stubbs (So.-Wayzata, Minn.) took first place with a score of 9.600.

Leah Robinette (So.-Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) won the uneven bars with a score of 9.350.

On the vault, Julia Stedman (So.-Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) had the Blugolds' best finish as she tied for third with a score of 9.375.

Olivia Aschenbrenner (Sr.-Cedarburg, Wis./Grafton) took eighth on the balance beam to lead Eau Claire as she finished with 9.125 points.

Next Friday the Blugolds will be home against UW-Oshkosh and Winona State University (Minn.) for Parent/Senior Night. Action will get underway at 6:30 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
