Tom Gillman enters his 18th year as men’s tennis head coach and 12th year as women’s tennis head coach in the 2019-20 season.

As men’s tennis head coach, Gillman has led the Blugolds to 15 straight winning seasons (2005-19) and accumulated a record of 291-138 during that time. He has qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament three times, in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

With the women’s team, Gillman has won conference championships in 2001 and 2002, while earning WIAC Coach of the Year four times (2001, 2002, 2011 and 2016). He currently sits as the fifth winningest coach in WIAC history. He has also coached one WIAC Player of the Year, Katie Gillman in 2014.

Prior to arriving at UW-Eau Claire, Gillman was an assistant coach at St. Olaf College and UW-River Falls. He also coached the men’s and women’s teams at Red Wing High School in Red Wing, MN.

As a player Gillman was a standout with UW-Stout, where he played on three Wisconsin State University Conference championship teams. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Stout in 1985 in hotel/restaurant management.

Gillman is married to Theresa and they have two daughters, Lindsay and Katie.
