NEW ORLEANS (Blugolds.com) – Lucy Ramquist (Sr.-River Falls, WI) of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team was named the MidwestRegion Athlete of the Year for the 2015 NCAA Division III Cross Country season, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as voted on by the Division's coaches.
Ramquist led UW-Eau Claire with first place finishes at the Blugold Invitational as well as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championships. Most recently, the senior won the NCAA Regional meet in Rock Island, Illinois, beating the 271 runners with a 6K time of 21:17.
Ramquist and the Blugolds will compete in the NCAA National Meet Saturday, Nov. 20 in Oshkosh, Wis.
