Volleyball takes down Titans

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire volleyball team secured the number two seed in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship (presented by Culver's) with a 3-0 win over UW-Oshkosh on Friday night.

Eau Claire took down the Titans by scores of 25-14, 25-22 and 25-18 on their way to their 19th win of the season. It is also the Blugolds' nine-straight victory.

Arianna Barrett (So.-Lakeville, MN/North) once again led the offensive attack, recording a match-high 12 kills while Makenzie Bachmann (Jr.-Chaska, MN) followed with 11 and also chipped in 12 digs.

Taylor Scalia (Jr.-Lake Elmo, MN/Stillwater) and Kendra Baierl (Jr.-Marshfield, WI/Columbus Catholic) led the Blugold defense with 15 digs and seven blocks, respectively, while Abbey Pederson (So.-Canby, MN) recorded 37 assists.
