EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com)- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire volleyball team swept St. Scholastica (Minn.) 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Box Score

After falling down early in the first, the Blugolds had a big momentum swing halfway through the set and never looked back, winning 25-12. Leading Eau Claire was Arianna Barrett (So.-Lakeville, MN/North) who managed six kills.

Eau Claire kept things rolling over the next two sets. They took the lead first on a service error and finished off the second set 25-17. A kill from Makenzie Bachmann (Jr.-Chaska, MN) off the assist from Abby Pederson (So.-Canby, MN) was the final point of the second.

A dominant final set would finish off the match, as the third concluded 25-10. The Blugolds really poured it on about halfway through the set again, extending a 10-7 lead to 19-7 before the Saints were able to respond.

Barrett paced all Blugolds with 12 kills, while Sarah Kuchcik (Fr.-Naperville, IL/North) and Krista Meyer (Jr.-Germantown, WI) contributed nine to the cause. Pederson had a huge night, tallying 41 assists.

Eau Claire (18-8, 4-2 WIAC) appears to be hitting their stride at the right time, as they've now won eight straight prior to their final two regular season games. They return to McPhee Center this Friday to meet up with UW-Oshkosh at 7 PM.
