Pashibin & Surprise earn AVCA All-America honors

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (blugolds.com) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2018 All-America teams, with Madelyn Pashibin (Sr. – Minneapolis, MN/Southwest) earning First Team honors and Surprise earning a spot on the Honorable Mention team.

Both Pashibin and Surprise were named to AVCA First Team All-Region Team last week.

Pashibin, the 2018 WIAC Offensive Player of the Year, continued to shine in last weekend's NCAA Regional Tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Surprise, a back-to-back All-WIAC First Team selection, also was named to the Regional All-Tournament team.

The Blugolds went 3-0 in the regional including a 3-1 win over defending National Champion, Claremont-Mudd-Scripts. In the following game, Eau Claire took down the College of Saint Benedict by a score of 3-1 to clinch a spot in the NCAA Elite 8.
