RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire volleyball team started Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play on Wednesday as they traveled to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. With the season off to a very successful start, UWEC had their eyes set on adding to their six-match win streak.

Box Score

Eau Claire - who has just broken into the AVCA national rankings at No. 17 - would do just that, defeating the Falcons in three sets, 25-13, 25-19 and 25-17.

The Blugolds' consistency continued where they left off from the Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament by reaching a kill percentage of 34.6 percent.

Arianna Barrett (Fr.-Lakeville, MN/North), Makenzie Bachmann (So. – Chaska, MN) and Madelyn Pashibin (Sr.-Minneapolis, MN/Southwest) each tallied eight kills while Taylor Scalia (So. – Lake Elmo, MN/Stillwater) led the defense with 15 digs. Madison Surprise (Sr.-Appleton, WI/Kimberly) also recorded 29 assists on the night.

The Blugolds (12-1) will be back in McPhee Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. as they host UW-Platteville. Follow the action on Blugold Game Day or on the 'UWEC Blugolds' app on your mobile device.
