PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - Consecutive wins have been hard to come by for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire volleyball team in their difficult start to their schedule, but Wednesday night's win at UW-Platteville was a big one to do just that. The Blugolds swept the Pioneers in commanding fashion via scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-19.

A trio of Eau Claire hitters racked up eight kills apiece in the win, with those being Krista Meyer (Fr.-Germantown, WI), Kendra Baierl (Fr.-Marshfield, WI/Columbus Catholic), and Madelyn Pashibin (Jr.-Minneapolis, MN/Minneapolis Southwest). It was Meyer who was most efficient, getting her eight kills on 11 attacks for a .727 percentage. She also contributed a team-best four block assists.

Chipping in defensively as well was Kelsey Kowitz (Jr.-Inver Grove Heights, MN/Saint Croix Lutheran). She added 12 digs, while Talia Jaskulske (Sr.-Maplewood, MN/North St. Paul) wasn't far behind with nine.

Madison Surprise (Jr.-Appleton, WI/Kimberly) finished the three-set victory with 28 assists. The win moved Eau Claire to 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).

Next up on the docket for the Blugolds is Alumni Day on Homecoming Saturday. They take on another WIAC foe in UW-Oshkosh at 6:00 p.m. on September 30 from the McPhee Center.
