OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's volleyball team was swept by UW-Oshkosh in three straight sets on Friday night in their first WIAC loss of the year.
The No. 22-ranked Blugolds were unable to extend their five-game unbeaten streak as the No. 21-ranked Titans came out strong in the first set winning by a score of 25-13.
UW-Eau Claire fell in the second set 25-23, and were unable to extend the game in the third set dropping the final set 25-16.
UW-Eau Claire was led by Mackenzee Pierog (Jr. - Eau Claire, WI) and Heather Sawchuk (Jr.-Roseville, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall with seven kills a piece on 17 and 28 attempts, respectively.
Madison Surprise (So.-Appleton, WI/Kimberly) led the Blugolds defensely with 15 digs.
The Blugolds (18-4, 3-1 WIAC) will look to get back on track on Oct. 11th against The University of Northwestern-St. Paul.
