EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - This past Saturday at the Augsburg Invitational, Katrina Raskie (Sr.-Weston, WI/D.C. Everest) earned her 1000th kill as a Blugold. The monumental kill came in the third set against the Augsburg Auggies, putting the Blugolds ahead 17-8 at the time, en route to a sweep in the match.

Raskie recorded 276 kills in 2013, 333 in 2014, 330 in 2015, and has 61 so far in the 2016 season.

"Kat has been a mainstay in our lineup since her first day in the gym as a freshman," Coach Kim Wudi said. "As a smaller hitter, she is almost always matched up against bigger blockers and scores with crafty shots as well as power."

To see a video clip of the 1000th kill, it can be found here.

Raskie said, "To get my thousandth kill is very special to me as a milestone both individually as a player and because of all of the people that have pushed me and helped me meet this goal." She added, "We always talk about how this program is so much bigger than any one person, and I'm just happy to have made an impact."

Fans can catch Kat and the rest of the Blugolds on Friday and Saturday of this weekend, when they play host to the Nike/Eastbay Classic at the McPhee Center.
