WHITEWATER, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's volleyball team (25-8, 3-3 WIAC) fell to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 3-0 (23-25, 13-25, 18-25) Friday night.

To open the match, the Blugolds jumped out to a 12-8 lead that would hold until late in the first set until the Warhawks ultimately chipped away and scored the final two points to win 23-25.

After the first set it was all downhill for Eau Claire, dropping the first five points of the set, a deficit from which they would never recover. A lopsided loss in set two was too much to overcome as the Blugolds also came up short in the following set to give up their first sweep since their loss to the University of Chicago earlier in September.

The Blugolds were only able to muster 34 points on the night, led by Emily Miller (So.-Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) with 8.

Saturday Eau Claire will take on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to cap off regular season play before the WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) tournament.
