KENOSHA, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - After the second and final day of tournament play at Carthage College, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's volleyball team (10-5, 0-0 WIAC) ended with one win and one loss.

Match 1 Box Score | Match 2 Box Score

The Blugolds were swept in their first match against the University of Chicago, (18-25, 17-25, 24-26). UW-Eau Claire had a hard time getting their offense going as Chicago came out firing on all cylinders in each set with early leads and pouring on relentless rallies.

Match two of day played out quite differently, however, with the Blugolds gaining a 3-1 victory over Elmhurst College (Ill.) to finish the tournament (25-19, 15-25, 25-19, 25-12). The story of the game was inconsistency, with each team winning their respective sets in convincing fashion. It was the Blujays jumping out to an early 7-2 lead, but not for long after a roaring comeback led by junior Katrina Raskie (Jr.-Weston, Wis/D.C. Everest), finishing with a team high 13 kills on the night.

After dropping the second set, the Blugolds capitalized on all their opportunities in the third and fourth sets to win the match.

Next up for Eau Claire is their conference play opener at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
