The Blugolds carried confidence into their first match against Carroll College (25-9, 22-25, 25-11, 28-26), which became very evident as they only allowed a season-best nine points in the first set. After dropping set two, the Blugold defense would tighten once more to take set three and four, winning the match. Talia Jaskulske (So.-Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) led the team with 15 digs on the night, followed by Juliana Burzynski (Sr.-Stanley, Wis/Stanley-Boyd) with 13.

Eau Claire's second match was against Dominican University, which would result in the Blugolds second win of the day (25-17, 25-21, 25-21). It was petal to the metal all night long for the Blugold offense, led by Emily Miller (So.-Prior Lake, Min/Prior Lake) who recorded 13 kills and 13.5 points.

Moving into day two of the Carthage tournament, the Blugolds boast a record of 9-4 overall. Eau Claire will take on both the University of Chicago and Elmhurst College in their second and final day of the tournament, before opening conference play against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse next week.
