MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - Day two at the Augsburg invitational finished quite similar to day one for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's volleyball team (6-4, 0-0 WIAC), notching both a win and a loss.

The Blugolds wasted no time getting on the board in their first match against the University of St. Thomas (25-18, 25-17, 25-13), winning the opening five points and never looking back. Eau Claire would hold the Tommies under 20 points in each of the three sets, in an overall completely dominant performance.

Match two of the day would prove to be a difficult test, as they would take on the tournament host, Augsburg College Eagles. In a hard fought battle both ways, Augsburg edged out the Eau Claire in five sets, 3-2 (25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 24-26, 11-15).

Hannah Theisen (Sr.-Rochester, Minn./Mayo) led the Blugolds with 12 kills in their game one victory, while Katrina Raskie (Jr.-Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) recorded a team high 16 kills during game two.

Eau Claire will return to the court on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match at St. Scholastica in Minneapolis.
