EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (4-2, 0-0 WIAC) came up just short in their mid-week home matchup with Viterbo University with a final score of 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-16). The loss snaps the Blugolds four game winning streak.

Eau Claire came out strong in the first set, winning the four of the first five points. Their efforts, however, were met by a strong Viterbo opposition, as they slowly whittled and won the set.
The Blugolds would struggle offensively in both the second and third sets, falling to the V-Hawks in a shutout. Viterbo improves to 10-0 on the year while Eau Claire moves to 4-2.
The volleyball team will be back in action this Friday at the Augsburg College Invitational in Minneapolis, Min. Their first match is at 3p.m. against the University of Minnesota-Morris and then at 5p.m. against the University of Northwestern-St. Paul.
