Outdoor Track and Field collects All-Region honors

NEW ORLEANS (Blugolds.com) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season.

Men's All-Region | Women's All-Region | National Championship Qualifier List

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region – as well the region's top-3 relay teams – earned All-Region distinction. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast and West – match those used during cross country and the indoor track & field season.

Ten Blugold men collected 12 honors while 11 women tallied 18 honors:

Brandon Christnovich (So. – Holmen, WI) – 4x400 relay
Matt Cooper (Sr. – Ashwaubenon, WI) – 1500m
Hunter Henk (Fr. – Beldenville, WI/River Falls) – 4 x400 relay
David Kornack (Jr. – Edgar, WI) – shot put and discus
Darin Lau  (Jr. – Eau Claire, WI/Immanuel) – 5K and 10K
Kyler Lueck (Fr. – Germantown, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) – 1500m
KJ Munn (Fr. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep Academy) – 4x400 relay
Jimmy Paske (Sr. – Minnetonka, MN/Hopkins) – 400m
Nick Petersson (Sr. – Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) – 10K
Aaron Zmolek (Fr. – Holmen, WI) – 4 x400 relay

Ashleigh Buergi (Jr. – Green Bay, WI/Bay Port) – 400m hurdles and 4x400 relay
Callie Fischer (Jr. – Oneida, WI/Ashwaubenon) – 10K
Claire Fischer (So. – Appleton, WI/North) – 4x100 relay
Steph Frempong-Longdon (Sr. – Minnetrista, MN/Waconia) – triple jump
Sarah Glidden's (Sr. – Greenville, WI/Hortonville) – 4x400 relay
Erica Oawster (So. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) – discus
Jessie Reineck (Sr. - Greenville,WI/Fox Valley Lutheran) – 200m, 400m, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay
Jess Rupnow (Sr. – Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) – 400m, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay
Samantha Slattery (So. – Waunakee, WI) – 5K and 10 K
JoHannah Theisen (Jr. – Eau Claire, WI/Regis) – shot put
Kelsey Worachek (Jr. – Appleton, WI/Xavier) – 4x100m relay

Next up for the Blugolds is the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be held May 25-27, in Geneva, Ohio.

Eau Claire will send 22 student-athletes to the national meet:
