Track & Field competes at UWSP Last Chance Meet

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire track and field teams had their final tune-up before nationals with several Blugolds competing at the UW-Stevens Point Last Chance meet over the weekend.

 Results

Erica Oawster (Sr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) won the shot put with a toss of 15.22 (49-11.25) to set a new season high and is ranked #2 in the nation.

Tommie Brenner (Sr. – Reedsburg, WI) won the 60m hurdles (8.94) and the pole vault (3.58m, 11-9) and is currently ranked #19 in the nation in the hurdles.

Ashley Agrimson (So. – Peterson, MN/Rushford-Peterson) won the long jump with a distance of 5.57m (18-3.25) and is currently ranked #11 in the nation while Kady Kochendorfer (Fr. - Hudson, WI) won the triple jump with a distance of 11.46m (37-7.25) and is ranked #19.

Amy Chen (So. Mayville, WI) took second in the 60m (7.98) and fourth in the 200m (26.54).

Karli Olsen (So. – Blue Earth, MN), Rosalie Campbell (So. – Germantown, WI) and Sasha Riley (Jr. – Fairmont, MN) went 2-3-4 in the 400m (1:00.47, 1:01.23, 1:01.74).

Lexie Tremble (Sr. – Muskego, WI) placed third in the mile (5:13.00) while  Allison Weiker (Fr. – Roseville, WI) was third in the pole vault and Kassandra Lueck  (Jr. – Nowthen, MN/Anoka) was third in the shot put (13.10m, 42.11.75).

The 4x400 relay team of Glory Hecker (Jr. – Stone Lake, WI/Hayward Center), Megan Wallace (So. – Burlington, WI), Olson and Lizzy Keena (So. - Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) was third with a time of 3:56.61.

Marin Munos (So. – Oswego, IL/Aurora West), Lizz Ottusch (Sr. – Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine), Bailey Waldhauser (So. – Loyal, WI) and Kylie Schuettpelz (Jr. – Black Creek, WI/Seymour) all tied for third in the high jump (1.58m, 5-2.25).

For the men, Chad Couser (So. – Rochester, MN/Mayo) won the 800m (1:59.15) while Bailey Wilson (Jr. – New Richmond, WI) was second (1:59.61).

Still ranked #1 in the nation, David Kornack (Sr. – Edgar, WI) won the shot put with a distance of 18.32m (60-1.25)

In the mile, Connor Dolan (So. – Nekoosa, WI/Assumption) was second (4:19.32) while Alex Winn (Jr. – Kingston, WA) finished in third (4:25.10).

Hunter Henk (Jr. – Beldenville, WI/River Falls) was third in the 200m (22.50) while KJ Munn (Jr. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep Academy), Lincoln Stultz (Fr. – Oconomowoc, WI) and Jack Chard (Fr. – Waukesha, WI/Kettle Moraine) went 2-3-4 in the 400m (50.14, 51.05, 51.91). Munn is currently ranked #20 in the nation in the event.

The 4x400 relay team of Henk, Arik Skifstad (Fr. - Eau Claire, WI/North), Brandon Christnovich (Sr. – Holmen, WI) and Munn placed second with a time of 3:20.16 while Adam Lembke (So. – Waukesha, WI/West) also had a second place finish with a 6.87m (22-6.50) mark in the long jump.

In the triple jump, Alex Schutt (Sr. – Kenyon, MN/Cameron) and David Lauritzen (Fr. – Wild Rose, WI) finished in third (13.21m, 43-4.25) and fourth (12.70m, 41.8), respectively.

Next up for the Blugolds is the NCAA National Championship Meet March 8-9 in Boston, Mass.
