Women's Track and Field Third, Men Fourth at Pointer Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire track and field teams competed at the Pointer Invite on Saturday. The women finished in third place with 116.5 points while the men were fourth with 72.

Results

Eau Claire dominated in the women's shot put as Erica Oawster (Jr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial), JoHannah Theisen (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI/Regis) and Kassandra Lueck (So. – Nowthen, MN/Anoka) went 1-2-3 with throws of 46-2.50, 44-6.25 and 40-08.25, respectively.

Kelsey Worachek (Sr. – Appleton, WI/Xavier) won 60-meter dash with a time of 7.87 while Tommie Brenner (Jr. – Reedsburg, WI) won the pole vault (11-3.75).

The 4x400 relay team of Glory Hecker (So. – Stone Lake, WI/Hayward Center), Worachek, Brenner and Sasha Riley (So. – Fairmont, MN) took second place with a time of 4:05.95.

Ashley Agrimson's (Fr.-  Peterson, MN/Rushford-Peterson) leap of 17-6.75 was enough for second in the long jump while her 34-0.00 in the triple jump placed fourth.

Sarah Glidden (Sr. – Greenville, WI/Hortonville) was second in the high jump (5-3.25) while Lizz Ottusch (Jr. – Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) was fourth (5-1.25).

Ashleigh Buergi (Sr. – Green Bay, WI/Bay Port) was fourth in the 200-meter, clocking in at 26.19 while Brenner was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.43) and Riley was fifth in the 800-meter (2:26.49).

For the men, the 4x400 relay team of Dietrich Schwoerer (So. – McFarland, WI), Jordan Lijewski (Fr. – Roseville, MN), Nathan Moll (Fr. – Oregon, WI/Stoughton) and Kyle Groven (So. – Pine Island, MN) took top honors, clocking in at 3:27.91. Also earning a first place finish was David Kornack (Sr. – Edgar, WI) who won the shot put with a toss of 55-1.00.

KJ Munn (So. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep) took third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.72 followed by Aaron Zmolek (So. – Holmen, WI) in fourth (50.77) and Hunter Henk (So. – Beldenville, WI/River Falls) in fifth (50.90). Henk was also third in the 200-meter (22.75) while Groven finished fourth (22.81).

Adam Lembke (Fr. – Waukesha, WI/West) took fifth place in the long jump (21-2.50) while Jordan Lacey (Fr. – Greenville, WI/St. Mary Central) and Sam Devenport (Fr. – Suamico, WI/Bay Port) took fourth and fifth (41.8.75 and 41.5.00). Tyler Jeffries (Fr. – Kenosha, WI/Indian Trail Academy) also tied for fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-11.25.

The Blugolds will be back on the road Friday as they travel to the Twin Cities to compete in the St. Thomas Invite.
