STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track and field rode the momentum of Carly Fehler (Jr.-Oak Creek, Wis.) to a runner-up finish Saturday at the Pointer Invitational, hosted by UW-Stevens Point.
Fehler won two events to help lead the Blugolds to 125 points. The host Pointers won the meet with 152.9 points.
Fehler won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.93 seconds. Her teammate, Kayla Kelsey (Jr.-Sparta, Wis.), took second to her in a time of 7.98 seconds.
Later on in the afternoon, Fehler won the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.06 seconds. She ousted Catherine Whitcomb of Winona State by .02 seconds.
Calla Karl (Jr.-Frederic, Wis.) took second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.99.
Up next for the Blugolds is the St. Thomas Invite Friday night in St. Paul, Minn. Events are scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
