Women's Indoor Track & Field Takes Third at UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track & field team came away with four event victories, finishing in third place at the UW-Platteville Triangular today.

UW-Stevens Point won the meet with 155.5 points while Platteville took second with 91.5 and Eau Claire was third with 88.

Kayla Kelsey (Jr.-Sparta, Wis.) had two of the Blugolds' four event wins as she took first in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.03 seconds and won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.89 seconds.

Winning the one-mile run was Jami Riley (Jr.-Fairmont, Minn.) with a time of 5:23.28.

Lucy Ramquist (Jr.-River Falls, Wis.) won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:37.27.

Eau Claire also came away with six other top-three finishes.

Friday, a few Blugolds also competed at the Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational in Nebraska and the 4x400-meter relay team of Brooke Patterson (Jr.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton), Sarah Glidden (Fr.-Greenville, Wis./Hortonville), Jessica Rupnow (So.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) and Calla Karl (Jr.-Frederic, Wis.) had the best finish, taking fifth with a time of 4:00.39.

Next Saturday, the Blugolds will be at UW-Stout to compete in the Warren Bowlus Open, which is set to begin at noon.
