On Friday, UW-Eau Claire took on the warriors and came out ahead by a large margin. Four Blugolds defeated their opponents in singles competition while the remaining three wins came from the doubles category. No. 1 singles' player Katie Gillman (Sr.-Red Wing, Minn.)  won over her opponent 6-2 in both sets, while No. 2 singles Maddie Johnson (Jr.-Lakeville, Minn./South) defeated WSU's Hannah Potter 6-1 and 10-7 after falling 6-4 in the first set.

The duo played No. 1 doubles and pulled out yet another win 8-5 over the WSU pair of Hannah Potter and Jessica Urban.

Saturday's competition was not as favorable for the Blugolds. Three of the six singles matches were won by UW-Eau Claire while they were only able to capture one doubles match. Gilman took out her opponent in two sets, 6-1 and 6-0. No. 4 singles Colleen McCullough (So.-Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) snagged a win for the Blugolds, defeating UWL's Bryanna Blayton 6-4 and 10-8. She lost the first set 6-3. Madison Rossebo (Jr.-Minnetonka, Minn.) also won her No. 5 singles match 6-4, 6-4.

Gilman and Johnson were the only doubles' team to grab a win today for Eau Claire. The pair beat UWL's top duo 8-5.

La Crosse moves to an 8-2 record, 5-1 in WIAC play. UW-Eau Claire is now 7-3 and 4-2 in the WIAC.

The Blugolds will have next weekend off and will then compete in the WIAC Championship, October 26-27, in Madison.
